Hoping we'll start to see the kind of precipitous drop in that metric that we've seen over the past few weeks in the others.

Starting to fall below 2K/day so might not get to 60K next month. Call it "just" 40K to 55K dead, or so.

60,000 Americans have now died from Covid just in February - making it the 5th month out of the last 15 in which we've passed that mark.

Deaths are down, but still running at ~2000/day nationally. We'll get to a million soon, baby! Job well done.

    A couple of grim milestones:
    • The American Covid death count has passed 963,000. This would make that population the 11th largest city in the country - just ahead of Austin.
    • 50,000 Americans have now died from Covid just in February - making it the 7th month out of the last 23 in which we've passed that mark.
    ...and some promising trends:
    • Nationwide, new cases are now down 90% from their peak, and the 7-day average is now lower than it's been since November 30th.
    • In Texas, new cases are now down 89% from their peak, and the 7-day average is now lower than it's been since December 21st.
    • Hospitalizations in Texas are now down 63% from their peak and are now lower than they've been since December 29th.

The U.S. has now surpassed 80,000,000 confirmed Covid cases.

I remember being told that 15 would be the high water mark.

Once again, the greatest advocates for white supremacy are ironically the best evidence that it doesn't exist ...

Oh, wow, so it wasn't about the vax after all. Huh. Surprising ...

Canada just denied Mike Lindell and a truckload of bible-themed pillows or some such entry to "support the truckers". No vax record/no test.

    Proper thing.

Another day, another couple of grim milestones:
    • The American Covid death count has passed 950,000. This would make that population the 12th largest city in the country - just ahead of Jacksonville.
    • 40,000 Americans have now died from Covid just in February - making it the 10th month out of the last 23 in which we've passed that mark.

No worse than the flu, we were told by some.

Anyway, we should get to a million easily. Thankfully, the death rate on this wave has finally turn the corner nationally.
Working...
